HASD School Based Mental Health
We believe in creating an emotionally and physically safe learning environment for students, staff, and community. School mental health programming is an effective way to improve the learning environment. Through our school mental health programming, we provide a continuum of support and practices that range from addressing students’ emotional well-being to supporting significant student mental health challenges. Partnerships between schools, youth, families, and mental health providers can result in improved academic outcomes.
We take the following approach to student mental health:
- Universal Social Emotional Learning instruction for all students
- Brief strategies that support students at risk
- Intensive strategies that support students with significant needs
- Streamlined referral process with community mental health providers including school-based therapy providers
