Science Email Phone: 920-779-7900 ext 14134 div style="text-align:left">I grew up working on our small family farm in central Wisconsin where I was immersed in the natural world and sciences through opportunities such as milking cows, planting food crops and gardens, making maple syrup, and witnessing the birth and death of animal life. After achieving my Bachelors of Science degree from UW-La Crosse, I chose to work for water and paper environmental laboratories as an analytical/research chemist in supervisory positions. From this experience, I bring a strong background as a scientist that can provide relevant, real-world knowledge and experiments into the classroom. I became interested in education with a local environmental education initiative, where I coordinated environmental programs for community members and schools. I began other educational grant work through UW-Extension in several programs, including Environmental Youth Connections, Nutrition/Action NuAct Coalition, Active School/Service Learning Grant, Working on Wellness grants, Movin’ Communities, and Healthy Communities/Healthy Youth. Through working with these grants, I bring networking skills and community applications into the science classroom. In 2010, I finished the ACT teacher licensure program through UW-Oshkosh and love teaching chemisty, biology and plant biology at Hortonville High School. Welcome to my homepage!
