Creating your Parent/Observer account in Canvas can be done in just a few simple steps below: 

1. Open a web browser (preferably Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge)
2. Navigate to: https://hortonville.instructure.com/login/canvas
3. Find and click "Click Here for an Account."
4. Enter your personal information and your child's pairing code (more information below), then click "Start Participating." 

To access your student's pairing code you can either ask your child's teacher or obtain it in your student's Canvas account by:

1. Open a web browser and have your student navigate to https://hortonville.instructure.com and login using their HASD-provided account
2. Click on "account" in the left-side navigation bar
3. Click "Settings." 
4. Click "Pair with Observer." 
5. A one-time use code should appear on the screen. Copy this code and paste it into the Student Pairing Code area in your parent details.
